Yao to play Houston pre-season games in China

Chinese center Yao Ming will be back home in October as his team Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings will play two pre-season games in China, National Basketball Association said on Saturday.

Chinese center Yao Ming will be back home in October as his team Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings will play two pre-season games in China, National Basketball Association said on Saturday.

"Clearly, if the facilities exist to house a regular season game I think you could see a regular season game there China) within the next two to three years," NBA Commissioner David Stern told a news conference.

The Rockets and their Chinese NBA All-Star Yao will face the Kings at the Shanghai Stadium in Shanghai on October 14 and at the Capital Stadium in Beijing on October 17.

Yao, a native of Shanghai, is in his second season with the Rockets and has emerged as one of the game's leading players. He is the starting center for the Western Conference in the NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles on Sunday.
