Chinese visa center in Edinburgh to offer faster services

China's Visa Application Service Center here said on Monday that it was striving to provide faster services to people wanting to visit China.

"We are making full use of our resources and facilities, as well as post services to ensure visas will be released within five to 10 working days," center manager Liu Gang told Xinhua.

"Applicants across the United Kingdom can post their application forms together with Payment Authorization Forms to our office and the visas can be released within relatively shorter days," Liu said.

Established in September 2012, the center has handled more than 10,000 visa applications, including business, tourist and student visas in the past 12 months.

Demand is expected to increase due to increasingly strong links between Scotland and China.

The center is a commercial service organization registered in accordance with local laws and regulations and recognized by a Chinese Embassy or Consulate-General to handle routine daily processing of ordinary visa applications.

Currently, there are 35 Chinese Visa Application Service Centers in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and North America.
