JERUSALEM, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Gunmen opened fire Sunday evening at an Israeli civilian bus traveling near Anatot in the West Bank, the Israeli army said in a statement.

The IDF spokesman told Xinhua that the shooting caused no casualties, but the vehicle was damaged.

Soldiers were searching the area, in east of Jerusalem, for the assailants, the statement said.

Earlier Sunday, security forces arrested two Palestinians suspected of plotting to carry out a terror attack.

The men, detained at a checkpoint near the West Bank city of Nablus, were armed with improvised grenades, petrol bombs and knives. They carried a letter that said they intended to commit suicide.
