2 killed, 1 injured in U.S. shooting

HOUSTON, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Two men were killed and a children injured Tuesday in a shooting in the U.S. state of Louisiana, officials said.

The shooting happened in New Orleans, Louisiana, according to local TV channel FOX8.

Police received a report of multiple shots fired in Mid-City, a neighborhood in New Orleans, at 5:50 p.m., and when they arrived, they found two men with multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies on the porch of a home, according to the report.

An 8-year-old boy, who was shot in the stomach and arm, was taken to a hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, the report said.

Witnesses reportedly said two men opened fire and then fled on foot.

An investigation was underway.
