KIEV, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Three Ukrainian mountaineers were among the 11 victims killed in a terrorist attack in Pakistan-administered Kashmir on Sunday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

"Based on the results of corpse identification, we confirm that there were three Ukrainian citizens among the attack victims," Foreign Ministry spokesman Eugene Perebiynis told a news briefing here.

Three residents of Kharkov city in eastern Ukraine -- world-class athlete Igor Svergun and two athletes Badawi Kashaev and Dmitriy Konyaev -- were among those killed, Perebiynis said.

Ukraine will seek compensation from Pakistan to help the victims' families, he added.

Earlier, media reports said five Ukrainians were killed in the attack at Nanga Parbat, the ninth highest mountain in the world.

Two Chinese climbers, a Chinese-American and one Nepalese were among the 11 people killed. One tourist from China survived the violent attack.

Jundallah, a fraction of Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the attack.
