BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Senior official Liu Qibao on Thursday called for making greater efforts to promote the "Chinese dream."

Liu, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour in east China's Jiangsu and Shandong provinces from March 25 to 28.

Liu said the promotion of the "Chinese dream" should be regarded as an important task, as the term can help to boost national cohesion.

The essence of the "Chinese dream" is national prosperity and rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, as well as the people's happiness, said Liu, also a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau.

Liu called on encouraging the people to work hard and make arduous efforts, so as to realize the "Chinese dream" at an early date.

Liu also underlined the promotion of cultural system reform to push for healthy and fast development of the cultural industries.
