Ma Xiaotian meets with Egyptian guests

Ma Xiaotian, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and commander of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Maj. Gen. Abdul Meniem Al-Toras, the visiting commander of the Egyptian Air Defense Force, and his party on the morning of March 12, 2013 in the Air Force Headquarters of the PLA.

Ma Xiaotian said that there exists profound traditional friendship between China and Egypt. The two countries have always been supporting and helping each other in international and regional affairs since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries over half a century ago. Especially since the strategic cooperative relationship was established in 1999, the two countries have made great strides in bilateral cooperation in various fields, constantly enhanced mutual political trust and communicated more closely with each other in regional affairs.

The relations between the Chinese and Egyptian militaries have been well developed, as evidenced by frequent high-level contacts and fruitful cooperation in such fields as personnel training. The PLA Air Force has also maintained close contacts with the Egyptian Air Force and the Egyptian Air Defense Force. It is believed that with the in-depth development of the relations between the two countries, the two militaries will constantly strengthen their exchanges and cooperation at various levels and in various fields.

Toras expressed that Egypt attaches great importance to the traditional friendly relations between the two countries and the two militaries, and is willing to further strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and the two militaries, expand the exchanges in various fields and promote the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and the two militaries to a new high.
