SHIJIAZHUANG, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were killed after a heavy truck rolled over and crushed a smaller vehicle Wednesday night in north China's Hebei Province, local police said Thursday.

The accident occurred on the No. 331 provincial highway at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, when a heavy truck rolled over and crushed a small bus.

Seven people were rushed to a local hospital, where they died early Thursday morning despite medical efforts.

An initial investigation found that slippery roads as a result of snow and rain were to blame for the accident, police from the city of Hejian said, adding that the accident is still being investigated.
