HANOI, Oct. 27 -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's recent visit to Vietnam was a great success, playing a crucial role in strengthening Vietnam-China relations, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ho Xuan Son told Xinhua reporters recently in capital Hanoi.

During the visit, the two sides reached important consensus on cooperation directions and specific measures to further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, Son said.

"Notably, the two sides agreed to deepen mutual political trust, promote high-level visits, and further intensify all-round cooperation, especially in infrastructure and transportation areas, " Son said.

The Vietnamese official mentioned the agreement reached by the two leaders to expand cultural exchanges, especially among the youths, as a way to deepen understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

"The fruitful results of the visit will contribute to further deepening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in new era, mapping out directions for intensive and stable development of bilateral friendship, which is consistent with the common interests of the two peoples and with peace, stability and prosperity in the region," Son said.
