On July 26, BlueScope Buildings' Xi'an Factory was successfully completed. Equipped with the production lines of light and heavy steel main structures and dozens of high-efficiency metal roofs and wall surface plates, BlueScope Buildings' Xi'an Factory is designed to reach an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons with its production value up to RMB1 billion and it also serves as a leading supplier of full solutions of prefabricated metal with a large scale in central and western region. Yang Renhua, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Xi'an High-tech Zone, attended the completion ceremony.

BlueScope Buildings has invested a total of USD64 million in its Xi'an Factory Project. Equipped with the production lines of light and heavy steel main structures and more than ten high-efficiency metal roofs and wall surface plates, BlueScope Buildings' Xi'an Factory is designed to reach an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons with its production value up to RMB1 billion It is worth mentioning that the whole set of the production line of light steel structure, imported from the U.S., is the world's most advanced automated production line of main steel structure. Thanks to the factory's completion, BlueScope Buildings (Xi'an) Co., Ltd. now becomes a leading supplier of full solutions of prefabricated metal with a large scale in central and western China.

According to the informed sources, the factory was finished in 14 months, creating a new record of the fastest construction of a steel frame plant. Covering an area of 190 mu and the total building area of about 50,000 square meters, the factory is committed to developing the central and western market.

Xi'an Factory is the ninth plant BlueScope has built in China. BlueScope Steel, having been operating in China for more than 20 years, now employs more than 2,000 staff in China, and boasts nine world-class manufacturing plants as well as a wide-spread sales network. By far it has accomplished thousands of projects in China including industrial and commercial buildings, public buildings, power plants, high-rises and civil buildings. (By Gao Jie)
