Chinese President Continues State Visit in Thailand

Visiting Chinese President Jiang Zemin September 5 continued his five-day state visit in Thailand and attended a welcoming banquet hosted in his honor by Phuket governor Chadej Insawang.

����Prior to that, Jiang met with representatives from the local Chinese community.

����Jiang is scheduled to leave Phuket for Melbourne September 6 to begin his state visit to Australia from September 6 to 11, before heading for New Zealand to attend the 7th Informal Meeting of Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). (Xinhua)
