Concert for Elderly People's Festival ����The Ministry of Culture hosted a concert to mark the Festival for Elderly People on the night of October 17. ����Vice Premier Li Lanqing and Vice Chairman Buhe of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress were among the audience of about 1,000. ����The concert was held at the auditorium of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, where more than 300 local artists sang some 30 Chinese and foreign songs. ����This annual festival falls on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, and has become an occasion for the Chinese to display their traditional respect for and love of the elderly.
