Culture Ethnic Works of Art Fair Opens in Guangxi

A fair featuring ethnic works of art opened November 23 in the tourist city of Guilin in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Works of art on display at the fair includes rare stones, root- carvings, calligraphy and paintings, cultural relics, curios, folk handicrafts, and ethnic books and stamps.

Auctions, costume shows, performances, and ethnic food will also be featured at the fair.

There are a total of 36 ethnic groups living in Guangxi, famous for their diverse and colorful cultures and arts and crafts.

A local cultural official said the fair will play an important role in promoting cultural and tourist developments in Guangxi. (Xinhua)
