GUIYANG, Nov. 27 -- A coal mine explosion killed 11 people in southwest China's Guizhou Province Thursday morning, local authorities said.

The accident happened in Songlin coal mine in Songhe Town of Pan County. When the mine exploded, 19 people were working underground and eight of them managed to survive.
