Xi extends condolence message to Pakistani president over terrorist attack

BEIJING, Nov. 16 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday extended condolences to his Pakistani counterpart, Mamnoon Hussain, over a fatal terrorist attack in Pakistan and reaffirmed China's support for Pakistan in fighting this evil.

In the message, Xi said he was shocked by the terrorist attack at a shrine in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan district on Saturday night, which caused heavy casualties.

On behalf of the Chinese government and people, and in his own name, Xi mourned the dead and expressed condolences to the injured and to the families of the victims.

Xi said China opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

China will always stand with the Pakistani people and continue to firmly support Pakistan in fighting against terrorism and in protecting its national stability and the safety of its people.
