The Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa arrangement with China, which commenced in 2015, have opened for a new round of appointments from Monday 31 July 2017.

This visa will allow up to 5000 well-educated Chinese citizens who have acquired a certain level of English skills to experience a 12-months working holiday in Australia.

Applicants must hold a valid Chinese passport and have not previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday visa (subclass 417). At the time of lodging the application, applicants must be at least 18 years old but have not turned 31 years of age. Applicants must also have functional English skills, equivalent to IELTS 4.5 or higher. Since 1 July 2017, the visa’s base cost is AUD $440/ CNY¥2380.

Australia and China have introduced this working and holiday visa policy in hopes of providing a unique experience for Chinese applicants. This exchange between China and Australia will also help establish closer cultural ties between the two countries.
