Changsha boy wins first track and field gold medal at 2018 YOG

On Oct 15, Chen Long, a senior student from the High School Attached to Hunan Normal University, won a gold medal in high jump at the 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games (YOG) held in Argentina.

Chen Long not only won the men's high jump by 2.22 meters, but also set a new record for the YOG. It is also the first gold medal for China's track and field team at this year's YOG. Educated and influenced by his father, Chen Long has excelled in sports since childhood, especially in high jump. He jumped an astonishing 2.15 meters when he was just 14.

The Youth Olympic Games are an elite sporting event for young people from all over the world. The sports program is based on that of the Olympic Games, with 28 sports featured in the summer program and seven in the winter program. In addition, the program also includes exciting new disciplines and formats, such as 3-on-3 basketball.

The Youth Olympic Games aim to bring together talented young athletes aged 14 to 18 from around the world. Just like the Olympic Games, the Youth Olympic Games are held every four years.

The 2018 Buenos Aires Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) are being held in Argentina from Oct 6-18, and will include 31 different sports.
