2019 Internet Yuelu Summit Opens in Changsha

The 2019 Internet Yuelu Summit opened in Changsha, Hunan on April 2, 2019. Robin Li (Li Yanhong), Chairman and CEO of Baidu Inc.; Eric Xu (Xu Zhijun), Huawei rotating chairman; Hugo Shong (Xiong Xiaoge), IDG Capital founding partner; and more than 300 Internet giants attended. They discussed on new economy in internet era such as artificial intelligence and mobile payment, for the building of a new era of intelligent connectivity.

The summit was initiated in 2014 and this year is the sixth session. It was instructed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and organized by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Cyberspace Administration, the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, and the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. There are 11 themed sub forums concerning the 5G and intelligent driving, Internet + education, and artificial intelligence.

Hunan mobile internet business revenue hit 106 billion CNY in 2018, surpassing 100 billion CNY for the first time. Wu Lan, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee deputy secretary, said that the mobile Internet industry has become a new growth pole to promote Hunan’s economic development. Hunan would make every effort to build itself into an Internet industry highland with preferential policy, contributing to the prosperity of China's Internet industry with Hunan wisdom and strength, she added.
