About 91.2 percent of first-year students will establish rules for learning and life at university, a survey conducted by wenjuan.com has indicated, China Youth Daily reported on Sept. 5.

The 1,674 students surveyed said they tend to make a tight timetable for learning and have a rich after-school life. They also establish habits in other areas, including doing sports, surfing the internet, socializing, and eating healthily.

Kong Lei (pseudonym), a freshman in east China’s Shandong province, said he reminds himself not to waste time and strike a balance between work and play.

A freshman from a university in Shanghai said she must eat healthy food and do more physical activity. She believes that taking part in educational contests, increasing extracurricular activities, and studying in the library are three things she must do.

The surveyed students believe extracurricular activities and joining student organizations are the most valuable experiences. They also cherish the opportunity to network, engage in a relationship, and take part in speech contests.
