As the China International Import Expo (CIIE) entered its second day on Nov. 6, Chinese central enterprises started making massive purchases.

Companies under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASTC) signed purchasing contracts and agreements with German and US enterprises.

The Lucky Film under CASTC agreed to purchase fluoride films from America’s Dow Chemical Company, the second time these two companies have reached a deal at the CIIE.

Yuan Jie, general manager of CASTC, noted that the corporation is willing to join hands with great enterprises around the world to expand cooperation, renew cooperation models, and improve the quality of cooperation. It hopes to build partnerships featuring win-win cooperation, and jointly promote the prosperity of global economy and trade, Yuan added.

CASTC was not the only corporation to sign deals with foreign exhibitors. China Southern Airlines also agreed to buy services from the UK’s Rolls-Royce for the maintenance of 20 of its Airbus A350 aircraft from 2019 to 2034.

Telecommunication carrier China Mobile said it would purchase 4G and 5G devices, major network equipment, as well as other professional technological services from Ericsson.

Moreover, China Southern Power Grid, China National Machinery Industry Corporation, and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China also purchased high-end products from foreign exhibitors.

According to official statistics, a total of nearly 21,000 professional buyers were sent by over 1,400 companies under 97 Chinese central enterprises to the second CIIE, 4,000 more than those in the last session.
