Residents of the Atuleer village, located on a cliff in Sichuan province, carry their parcels home up steel ladders - things they bought online during the recent November 11 shopping festival, Sichuan Daily reported.

Atuleer village in Zhaojue county, Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture of southwest China's Sichuan province is a genuine "cliff village", 800 meters above the ground. The only way to the outside world from the village is to climb down steel ladders.

With the remote village equipped with base stations and 4G network, residents are now able to shop online freely.

Right now, villagers need to climb down the hill and pick up their parcels from the delivery office 40 kilometers away.

"I bought two pairs of shoes for my children, an electric saw for my father and a water heater for the family," said Yang Yang, a 24-year-old villager in Atuleer.

As one of the pioneers in the village to use the internet, Yang has introduced his hometown and local agricultural products to netizens from all over China through webcasts. He sold over 50 kilograms of local honey and pepper during the shopping holiday.
