"No stop in reform, no stop in opening-up," Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, vowed during an inspection tour of Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, and Guangzhou that lasted from Dec. 7 to Dec. 11, following the legendary southern trip of Deng Xiaoping, the architect of the reform and opening-up, more than 30 years ago.

During the tour, Xi stressed the necessity of promoting the Reform and Opening-up, and called on the entire Party and nation to work together to solve tough problems and overcome various difficulties. This shows the new Chinese leadership’s strong determination to adhere to economic reforms.

The reform and opening-up was a great awakening in the history of the CPC, a key move that determined the destiny of modern China, and is crucial to achieving the “Two 100-Year Objectives” and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

In order to realize "Chinese dreams" through the reform and opening-up, we must strengthen confidence, broaden consensus, and deepen reforms in key areas at an appropriate time with greater political courage and wisdom.

In order to realize "Chinese dreams" through the Reform and Opening-up, we must adhere to promoting development through reforms and expanding growth room through opening-up, take the path of green, low-carbon, and circular development, make efforts to build a beautiful China, boost the sustainable development of the nation.

In order to realize "Chinese dreams" through the Reform and Opening-up, we must be more ambitious and work harder.

China has entered a decisive stage of building a comprehensively well-off society, and is only eight years away from achieving this target. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will be realized as long as the Chinese government strengthens its senses of mission and responsibility, earnestly implements various strategic plans developed at the 18th CPC National Congress, and adheres to socialism with Chinese characteristics as well as the Reform and Opening-up.
