Photo Story: Survivors of the earthquake (5)

The big photo was taken on May 15, 2012 in old Beichuan county. Li Yue comes back for to the school where she used to live in and study and presents a white chrysanthemum to her classmates killed in the Wenchuan Earthquake. The small photo was taken on May 15, 2013. In the ruins of Maoba Primary School in Beichuan County, a firefighter accompanied Li Yue who was buried in ruins for nearly 70 hours. The firefighter holds her hands and helps her pass through her last night in the ruins. (Photo/CFP)

Li Yue was less than 13 when the Wenchuan Earthquake happened. This young ballet enthusiast lost her left leg. After the amputation surgery, she performed a dance at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Paralympic Games. Recently she has published three books which record her life experiences after the quake. She still has the dream to go to Beijing Dance Academy.
