Li Suzhi, director of the General Hospital of Tibet's Area Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) as well as a senior commander of the PLA troops stationed in Tibet, together with a medical team of 15 doctors, visited and provided free medical service for over 200 monks in Tibet Buddhism University in Quxu County, north of Lhasa, SW China’s Tibet Autonomous Region on June 1, 2013.
Tibet's Area Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has carried out free medical service for monks, farmers and nomads in remote areas, charity houses and children’s villages ever since 1996. Up to now, 20,000 monks and nuns have been handed out free medical cards.
