Sansha is a prefecture of the People's Republic of China's Hainan province which administers several island groups and undersea atolls in the South China Sea. It's the youngest and southernmost Chinese city which oversees the island groups and territorial waters in the South China Sea. The prefecture-level city has a whole new look as massive construction projects have been going on since it was established on July 24, 2012.
