Guo Bin is released from a hospital in Shenzhen and ready for going home in Taiyuan, Dec. 12, 2013. Currently, the prosthetic eyes only restore his appearance, but not his sight. The next step to help Guo "see" again would be bionic eye implants six months later. The bionic eye uses a camera to capture real-time images and would convert them into electrical pulses that would be sent to the brain and allow Guo to see. (CNS/Chen Jimin) |
