22-year-old Pan Donglai is from Shanghai and he is one of the 7.27 million college graduates in 2014. Like many counterparts, he has not yet found a satisfactory job.

Pan majored in chemical engineering and technology at Shanghai Normal University. Due to his preparation for postgraduate entrance exam, he began to send job applications online at the end of 2013. He sent out about 50 resumes via emails but only received four replies.

"Actually, I have no high expectation on my job. The salary between three and four thousand Yuan (about 488 USD and 650 USD) is enough", said Pan. "Facing the severe employment situation in this year, I believe a job that can support myself is OK".

"If I cannot find a job related to my major, I have to lower my expectation to try sales jobs or I will continue to take part in the postgraduate entrance exam to improve my competitiveness," said Pan with helpless smile.
