Zhongfen, a small village with a population of 300 people, lies in the mountainous area of Central China’s Anhui province. About 20 years ago, some residents started to work in big cities and they brought back money and new lifestyle. More and more people followed their steps, and only seniors and children were left behind. 10 years ago, there were only dawdling fowls and barking dogs in the village in daytime.
Many changes have occurred in Zhongfen in 10 years. In 2014, residents came back and repaired the roads in the village. They set up rural home inns to attract tourists in neighboring cities. The business also attracts many young people back to their hometown to work for themselves. The “empty nest” village gradually comes back to life.
