Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian, is playing host to a gathering of various arts and crafts originating in the province and Taiwan.

The martial art known as Wing Chun has in recent years made its name among the Chinese public in a string of Kung-fu movies and television series. Master Zheng Zujie is drawing crowds of enthusiastic visitors looking for tips.

Qiu Weizhen, Ming Chuan university, Taiwan, said, "It actually demands great control of your body. You really need some muscle to get the moves right. I saw Wing Chun on TV. Never thought I could have a try here."

Zheng Zujie, Wing Chun master, said, "You need to make your attack and defense within a very short distance, just 2 to 3 centimeters. That enables you to go quicker than your opponent in combat."
