Two killed in central China landslide

CHANGSHA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed in a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in central China's Hunan Province on Monday night, local authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

The accident happened at Zhaojiatang village, in Heshan district of Yiyang City at around 10 p.m. when the landslide caused a house to collapse, burying four people.

They were all sent to hospital but two died later. The remaining two are both injured, with one of them in a critical condition.

The local authorities did not say whether the people had been warned of the extreme weather in advance.
