Beijing tenants

National housing rent has increased 44 consecutive months as of the end of August, and the rent in Beijing has surged for 54 straight months, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

The average monthly salary of a Beijinger was 5,223 yuan last year. If 25 percent is considered as ideal amount for rent, 1,300 yuan should be a reasonable price for a single room.

There is a group of people who come to Beijing from different cities. They may have nothing in common but they all rent a place in Beijing. We call them “Beijing Tenants”.
