Spring Festival travel rush: One window, one world

The first temporary train K9286 from Guangzhou to Changde departs at 0:49 a.m., with 2,647 passengers aboard. Temporary trains operate only during the peak travel season, such as the Spring Festival and the National Holiday. They are not listed in the official fixed schedule and are routinely subject to delays.

The 40-day spring travel rush starting on Jan. 16 and ending on Feb. 24 will transport 3.6 billion passengers this year, 200 million more than last year, according to National Development and Reform Commission.
