China's top political advisor meets with Laotian guest

BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor, Yu Zhengsheng, met with Phanhdouangchith Vongsa, president of the Standing Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction, on Monday.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said during the meeting that China and Laos have enjoyed deep political mutual trust, mutually beneficial economic cooperation, close cultural communication and mutual support in multilateral occasions.

The two countries' relationship has become a model for developing relations between China and other neighboring countries, he said, adding that China emphasizes its relations with Laos and is willing to work with Laos to further promote bilateral ties.

The CPPCC and the Lao Front for National Construction are united front organizations under the leadership of communist parties, Yu said, noting that they are playing important roles in the political fields of the two countries.

He commended the fruitful results of communications between the two organizations over the years and voiced the hope of further strengthening cooperation so as to help promote the two countries' ties.

Phanhdouangchith spoke highly of the two countries' relations as well as China's economic and social development.

He said he hopes the Lao Front for National Construction and the CPPCC will further enhance communication and cooperation.
