Recently, the Sichuan Contingent of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (APF) conducted strict training for selecting special operation members. After one-month training, 30 officers and soldiers stood out from 200 candidates.
In the training camp, the candidates received super-intensive training consisting of all subjects 10 hours a day. Every day, the candidates were required to run 5 km twice with a heavy load, complete 200 rounds of push-lift and 200 rounds of squatting carrying a circular log of about 50 kilograms, and repeatedly practice a 100-meter sprint dragging a 10-kilogram tyre.
In addition, the candidates were required to receive training of high-difficulty subjects including 400-meter barrier, climbing, rope-descending, anti-terrorist tactics, shooting and field survival.
Zhao Chen, chief of the Special Operation Detachment said, "The selection not only emphasizes the professional skill of soldiers, but also attaches importance to their overall quality, including the future plasticity and individual mentality of the candidates. Only those who have passed rounds of selection and reached the relevant standards after the training can become members of Special Operation Detachment."
