A combination of open mind and plateau soul

St. Regis Lhasa Resort hotel had its construction engineering wrapped up on November 1, 2010;
St. Regis Lhasa Resort hotel hung its name plate on May 28, 2011…
From this timetable, we can see the steadfast steps Lhasa has left during its transcendence towards a famous worldwide destination of tourist attraction.
“To make Lhasa the worldwide destination of tourist attraction is the objective the central government has set for Tibet in the Fifth Tibet Work Conference”, revealed Mr. Qi Zhala: “to build a globalized tourism sector is our goal and our mission. Of course, to Tibet, globalization not only stands for efforts to embrace the outside world, but efforts to demonstrate the glamor of Tibet Plateau”, concluded the man firmly.
The settlement of St. Regis Lhasa Resort hotel, the top brand under Sheraton, on the one hand heralds the commencement of a new era in Lhasa, and on the other hand indicates the orientation where Lhasa should go for its tourism prosperity. Lhasa should, in addition to continually attract more domestic tourists, mount to global tourism market to boost its global reputation for high-end travel-lovers. In the wake of St. Regis, a batch of globally famed five-star hotels flocked to Lhasa for settlement. Intercontinental Resort Lhasa Paradise with a planned investment of RMB1.8 billion and Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa with a planned investment of 50 million USD also focused their eyes to high-end tourists in Lhasa. The two hotel giants rivaled to launch their construction for establishments in Lhasa almost at the same time. As of 2013, Lhasa added 17 newly built star hotels to its territory, which tremendously promoted the tourism hardware and service level in Lhasa.
Along with more and more foreigners pouring into the land, tourism agencies in Lhasa are also stepping up their efforts to hunt practitioners good at second language. More tour guides are also enhancing their study of foreign language. Cuo La, a Sichuan Khampa girl, who runs accessories business in Lhasa, thinks her stand has been frequented by more and more foreign tourists year by year. “We will get more customers and business soon since the climate is getting better”. The girl revealed that she was doubling efforts to practice oral English so as to better communicate with foreigners in a practical way.
Today’s Lhasa, an ambitious rising city with vigor and global vision, also impresses tourists from around the world deeply. “Compared with my last visit, Lhasa looks quite differently now”, noted Jennifer•Thompson from Texas of USA “Lhasa impresses me a lots with her globalization efforts. I have every reason to believe that in the near future, Lhasa will become the star worldwide destination of the tourist attraction.”
