PARIS, July 31 (Xinhua) -- French President Francois Hollande on Thursday announced the death of his diplomatic advisor Paul-Jean Ortiz after a long battle with disease.
In a statement issued by his office, Hollande "has a deep sadness to announce the death of Paul-Jean Ortiz this morning" after suffering from cancer.
Named as the president's diplomatic advisor since 15 May 2012, Ortiz was a passionate of Chinese civilization. He spoke Mandarin and had a diploma in Chinese literature.
