The 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2014) kicked off in the old and new Beijing China International Exhibition Centers on April 21, 2014. More than 2,000 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions are taking part in the event. 1134 vehicles will be exhibited during the show, with 118 making their first public appearance.

In addition, commercial automakers and components manufacturers will show off the latest trends in cutting-edge technology in the automotive parts industry.

Many new brands debt at Beijing Auto show

Global automakers see the Chinese vehicle market as a must-win battlefield. The Beijing auto show has attracted all the global multinational brands. Domestic exhibitors are also giving a strong showing to China's own brands. In addition to luxury brands that are familiar to Chinese consumers like Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Rolls -Royce, many top luxury brands including GMC, AC SCHNITZER, Koenigsegg, Brabus, Star Custom, George Patton, TechArt, PGO are also present. Some well-known international brands and new brands such as Lincoln, McLaren, and Qoros are appearing at Beijing Auto Show for the first time.

‘Specially designed for Chinese consumers' is the go-to phrase

Many multinational automakers have brought car models "specially designed for Chinese consumers" to better target the Chinese market. For example, Volkswagen has launched a 40th anniversary edition of the Golf concept car for Chinese consumers. Ford has produced a brand new mid-level family Escort. Most Chinese consumers like to use smart phones, MP3, and GPS in cars; therefore, a mobile terminal equipment rack is installed in the console of the Escort.

Energy-saving, environment protection, and innovation are key points

As one of the world's A-class Auto Shows, Beijing Auto Show 2014 will showcase new scientific and technical achievements in the automotive industry and present new developments and breakthroughs in design, environmental protection, science and technology, and cultural aspects.

Many automakers will demonstrate their latest attempts to combine their business with the Internet. Lexus and Volvo have brought their latest hybrids, while the Toyota FCV CONCEPT is targeted at the future hydrogen energy.
