KABUL, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Afghan and NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) during a combined operation captured a Taliban senior leader in Nangarhar province 120 km east of Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday, ISAF said in a statement released here.
"An Afghan and coalition security force arrested a Taliban senior leader in Khugyani district, Nangarhar province, today," the statement asserted.
However, it did not reveal the name of the arrested leader, but added, "the leader is believed to be a suicide operations facilitator who manages the recruitment, training and movement of insurgent to conduct attacks on government officials, as well as Afghan and coalition forces.
He is also believed directly associated with several Taliban insider attack insurgents and worked closely with Hezb-e-Islamic Gulbuddin leadership, the statement stressed.
